STRIVE provides personal support, assistance, and social guidance to Rensselaer’s underrepresented students through activities and interactions with their classmates, faculty, staff, and alumni.
In collaboration with Rensselaer's chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, STRIVE connects first-year students with upper-class mentors.

National Society of Black Engineers
- Mission Statement: “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community”
- NSBE is a student governed organization that focuses on leadership, community service, academic excellence, and so much more.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
- Mission: SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development.
- SHPE-RPI hosts GBMs, workshops, and programs to help members gain valuable skills and experiences necessary to help them achieve their academic and professional goals
Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers
- Mission: The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) Rensselaer is a student organization founded in 2014 for the purpose of fostering professional growth within the Asian heritage student body at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
- SASE - Supported by our three pillars: professionalism, diversity, and community service, we strive to celebrate Asian heritage, and scientific & engineering students achieve their full career potential.
