Welcome to the Department Review process!
The Division of Student Life educates and supports students through their Rensselaer tenure, preparing them for their post graduate experiences. This support occurs through a variety of methods - services, programs, individual interactions, and many more methods. The work we do leaves in an indelible mark on the student experience; we now seek to evaluate and assess this work to help us continue to move forward in our excellence.
The Student Life Assessment Committee (SLAC) was charged with developing and implementing direct and indirect measures of the success of the activities and services of the Division of Student Life. SLAC developed this Department Review process as a part of the Division wide assessment plan to ensure we are contributing to the Institute’s accreditation process.
What is CAS
Student Life Mission Statement
The Division of Student Life strives to create a holistic and developmentally transformative experience for students throughout their academic journey. Through Clustered Learning, Advocacy, and Support for Students (CLASS), our comprehensive approach to the student experience, we imbue students with the intellectual agility, multicultural sophistication, and global view that enables them to learn, thrive, and change the world.
Resources and Support
The process of Program Review will occur with support from the Student Life Assessment Committee. A SLAC member will be assigned to each unit to provide support and feedback throughout the Program Review process.
At the beginning of each of the six Milestones, the Program Review Leads will meet with SLAC to review the outline and timing expectations for each Milestone. The Program Review Leads will reach out to their assigned SLAC member with any questions or concerns.
There will also be digital resources available for reference. A Box folder will hold the CAS Self-Assessment Guides, milestones, and deadlines for each milestone.
Thank you in advance for your commitment to the program review process. We invite you to celebrate the meaningful and important work done in each unit within the Division of Student Life through program review.
We look forward to working together through the program review process!
