Parent Orientation Schedule

Summer 2021

Please review the schedule and sign up for events and programs, all are scheduled for Eastern Standard Time (EST). Events are hosted on the WebEx video conferencing platform and registration links will be available within 7 days of each session. Email reminders are sent before each event. After each event occurs live, a link to the recording will become available here.

Weekly Connect - (June 15 - August 19)
In addition to the Orientation events below, please join the First Year Experience (FYE) Team for a weekly, live Q&A session. Connect days are not recorded but occur each week. This is just one of many ways to connect with us

Weekly Connect does not require registration and a link to join will be added before the first session.

ROTC at Rensselaer
2:00 p.m. 

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs are elective programs for students who desire commissions in the armed forces. Learn more about the ROTC experience at Rensselaer from our campus representatives.  Register Here

Disability Student Services
4:00 p.m.  

Learn more about Disability Student Services (DSS) at Rensselaer. DSS offers information and resources based on individual needs to ensure that students are provided academic adjustments to allow for equal access to a college education at Rensselaer.   Register Here

Join First-Year Experience and Rensselaer's counseling staff for a discussion on the first-year student transition.  We will use the suggested reading, The Stressed Years of Their Lives as a guide for this discussion. Register Here

This session will provide parents the opportunity to connect with the CCPD to learn more about services provided to students throughout their time at RPI, our new career management platform, how to support your student's career development journey, and engagement opportunities with CCPD. Register Here

Parents: Your Student's Health & Safety
7:00 p.m.  

Join Rensselaer's Department of Public Safety and Rensselaer's Student Health Center, to learn more about safety protocols on campus and in our community as well as our recommendation for mental and physical health as a college student.  Register Here

This session will provide you an opportunity to learn how you can start your internship search right away at Rensselaer.  The CPPD is here to help you navigate developing your resume, mastering networking and interviewing, and searching for the right opportunities for you.
