Students and families will receive a comprehensive overview of the summer's activities and timeline. Led by FYE and other key partners, new students will be formally introduced to their primary resources and how to navigate the onboarding activities and systems.
Students will get an overview of our advising system at Rensselaer and what to expect for all students, regardless of major. Learn how our advising hubs, ALAC, and your faculty are all here to support you in your academic plans. It is also normal to not have a clear idea of what you'd like to major in. This session will help you narrow or normalize your plans.
In this panel style session, students will recount lessons learned and help you navigate things you may not be thinking about just yet, but advice they wish they knew sooner.
In this panel style session, parents will hear from our current parents. What successes and setbacks did their student's experience and what support did they receive while away from home for the first time. How did their relationship with their children evolve?
With Fall 2024 eBills now available, how do I interpret my charges, set up other payers, a payment plan, or otherwise finance my balance. How does work study factor in to my total award? We'll break it all down and answer your questions.
Supporting a successful experience starts with being physically and mentally healthy. Learn how our health and counseling centers support students every day, and our recommendations for parents as your students navigate being away from home. Interested in how different types of accommodations work in college? DSS will break that down as well.
In this session, we are joined by the Department of Public Safety to discuss safety on campus and in the Troy community. In addition, we will discuss the backdrop of our residential student experience including Living Learning Communities, RAs, and our Student Living and Learning Team. Learn more about our dining halls, eating healthy on campus, and navigating dietary restrictions and allergies.
Hear from our Student Union and Fraternity and Sorority Commons who oversee 200+ student organizations, multiple facilities, programming and events. The Union is the hub on campus for getting involved, staying active, and meeting new people.
